Visits

Updated 2 May 2013, after versions of 10 Feb 2013 and 3 Apr 2012.

If you wish to visit the Herbarium, please give notice to the Keeper. As for parking, you will need to obtain a free parking permit (1 per vehicle) if your visit falls during the week between Monday 7 am to Friday 4 pm. After 4 pm on Fridays and all day on weekends, there is no permit needed.

Option 1) For permits with less than 48 hours advance notice: During working hours (8 am - 4 pm), please stop in at University Police, Parking Division, to get a visitor parking permit on your way in to the Herbarium (a hangtag that you display from inside the car). The Parking Division office is accessed from the rear entrance to 237 N. George St., Millersville, PA. If you are coming in on George St., from Route 999, turn right at the light onto West Cottage Ave. and make the first left into a driveway area. It is the 1st building on the left.

After hours, call non-emergency campus police at (717) 872-3433 for a temporary permit on the spot.

Option 2) For up to 3 permits (i.e., for 3 vehicles) with at least 48 hours advance notice: Contact Biology Department Secretary Beth Roberts (717-872-3409 or beth.roberts@millersville.edu) to arrange for a temporary parking permit. She has access to up to 3 special reserve parking spaces (on a first-come basis) very near the Roddy Science Building that contains the Herbarium.

Reserve Space Location: See the map below for the location of these spots.

Option 3) For larger numbers of permits (e.g., for groups with more than 3 several vehicles) with at least 48 hours advance notice: Contact Biology Department Secretary Beth Roberts (717-872-3409 or beth.roberts@millersville.edu) to arrange for a temporary parking permit.

Where to park: With these permits, visitors can park in white (not yellow, blue, or red) spaces. For the Herbarium, there are parking lots N of (off of Pucillo Drive) and S of (off of E. Frederick Street) the Roddy-Caputo Science Complex. Also, street parking is available here and there, particularly on Frederick St. and Creek Dr. S and SW of the Roddy-Caputo Science Complex (see map below).
